Fort Myers Middle Academy

On Tuesday, April 3rd, the Edison-Ford Winter Estates will be hosting a Family Science Night at Fort Myers Middle Academy from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Booths are available for businesses to help kids understand what STEM is all about. Some ideas for your booth may include showing a company or STEM-related video, displaying a 3-dimensional object created by your company, or a hands-on activity that students can do that illustrates an idea about your company.  There are still spots available for 5 booths, as well as engineer volunteers who would like to talk to the students about engineering.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Merry Coffman at 239-335-3671 or

The Edison-Ford Winter Estates will be at Fort Myer’s Middle Academy’s afterschool program from 4:15 - 5:45 p.m. for a hands-on demonstration of engineering principles. If you are a first time engineer volunteer, this is a great way to get involved without a lot of prep work!  As the engineer, you’ll give a brief 5-10 minute talk about what makes being an engineer so cool and then you’ll be there to help guide the students in the hands-on challenge. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Merry Coffman at 239-335-3671 or mcoffman@edisonfordwinterestates.org, or Glen Beitmen at gbeitman@efwefla.org.
